Healthy blood donors are critical to sustaining our lifesaving blood supply. We are urgently asking healthy donors to give blood and for organizations to continue to hold drives as blood shortages pose a health risk for our community. ?
 
We’re taking all possible precautions to keep donors safe, in our donor rooms and at blood drives. And we’re sharing information from the CDC and San Antonio Metro Health about how to stay healthy and avoid picking up or spreading germs. Learn more at SouthTexasBlood.org/Coronavirus.
 
As a precaution, we are asking donors to delay their donation if they have had symptoms or traveled within the past 28 days to countries identified by the CDC as areas of a widespread outbreak.
 
Respiratory diseases like coronavirus are not known to be transmitted through blood donation or transfusion.
